The number on the octane rating doesn't say always the truth about the real fuel quality and how much will knock.

Most tuners in Japan are old-fashioned and don't like to adapt to the changes. I was discussing with a couple of them some years ago (really famous over there) and they were telling me to remove my ECU and send it to them via mail to change the parameters. These people are still living in the early '90s ...

The only issue I can see with the European Ecutek tuners is that most of them don't have much experience on our cars. However, there is always the option of remote tuning.

About the useless features it is simple. If you don't want them don't use them. For example, I don't like to switch maps or to use the Race-ROM features ... This doesn't mean that it is an overall useless tool. The tuner that I wanted to program my car was using Ecutek and it is just fine for me. I got what I wanted and I am not using the other features.
