Dang! They make cool 7-sided lug nuts! Now I wish I had got some that were cool! Mine are plebian six sided steel ones. They are 24k gold plated though.

I purchase them from ebay because they met the following criteria:

1. Open ended - This the main reason - I installed extended studs.

2. Steel - I threw away a set of cheap, faded anodizing, aluminum, Godspeed (blasphemy?) lug nuts after a few on/off cycles.

3. Gold colored - I am changing the accent colors on my car from red and silver (the door handles and steering wheel trim are silver etc...) to gold and blue.

4. Decently priced - They were not the cheapest, but also did not break the bank.

Thanks!

Not today, yet recently.
New Battery.
$49.88 + corpse charge.
One year free replacement.
from Walmart
Value Power brand.
Made by Johnson Controls
540CCA
model VP-26R
their stock #554140619
Smaller than OE Panasonic Battery. I failed to measure that one.
Actual approximate dimensions of battery I bought, not including posts...L 8.0", W 6.5", H 7"
A slightly larger battery group number (at this same price) might have fit.

https://www.jegs.com/Sizecharts/bcigroup.html

http://www.batteryweb.com/bci.cfm

Seems Walmart does also sell group 35 in this brand and price. VP-35.
their stock #554140626
One cannot trust dimensions they state in text, online for any battery.

Amazing how many battery sizes will fit this car.
Old style group number 22F size would surely fit as well, though no such size from Walmart.
Old style group number 24F would be too long.

How many of these can I purchase for the price of an Optima ?...LOL.

We should totally call it a corpse charge instead of core charge from now on. So much more fitting, lol.

On my way to work today, this happened.

It's like 3/4 of a milestone. LOL!

2230 days since I purchased the car. 33.63 miles per day.

Yeah, you need the counter bore for the twins. I have an aluminum sphere for sale in the classifieds (hint hint)if you are after a nice spherical knob

Today I installed my ExoticSpeed UEL catless header and 60mm over pipe. As @SuperTom explained in a separate thread, they're exactly the same as the Gruppe-S/Gent5 header. I bought these off of fleaBay for $485 and to my surprise they actually came with the over pipe, hardware, and gaskets. For the price I was only expecting the header.

Freshly unboxed

New vs old

Added some heat shielding to the oil pan

I found out the hard way that the edges of the heat shield on the stock header are really sharp...

Installed! I couldn't get a better/further away picture since I'm doing this on jack stands.

Makes me look down at the middle finger on my left hand that has a barely visible scar running from the top of the nail diagonally down to the first joint....

Got that working in my Father's roofing company, day before Thanksgiving 1970something. We were on a roof in Asheville, NC on top of a mountain in almost zero degree weather and about a 15knot wind. I was laying shingles, nailing like a banshee to get out of the hell out of there when I felt something warm running down my hand.

I had hit my finger with the hammer and split it open. The good news was it was so cold I didn't realize what I had done, couldn't feel a thing. We wrapped a bandage around it (probably should have had stitches but who had time for that) and moved on. Finger still doesn't fully have feeling in the tip.

I think it sounds much better than the shitty muffler delete the previous owner did (see my previous post in this thread). I haven't had a chance to actually drive it yet though So far all I've done is start it and listen for leaks. I plan to take it for a drive this weekend and see what it really sounds like.

Those headers sound great with the HKS dual resonated FP and HKS Legamax premium catback.

You have the FP for sale.
I have the Catback for sale.
