You've all got it wrong. The new ad push is a measure to cut down on the spam posts. If no one can view/post to the site, there won't be anymore spam.

ublock origin and pihole are the way to go on a computer and network respectively.

so more than likely, because there's more people running ad blockers, it means they need more ad's to make up for the lost revenue.

this was jalopniks case as well. now the site literally doesn't load anymore there's so many ad's
