Hi. I've got a 2013 BRZ, with 80k mostly highway miles, and just two track days. I really want more power. I have the Phantom SC, and like it when it works, but I don't have the time or skill to keep it that way, so I'm considering the JRSC. I bought this car with the plan to keep it for a long time, and am wondering about the wisdom of adding this SC with this many miles. Any thoughts or things to consider? Would I just be buying trouble at this point in the car's life?

Weird noise. Help?
Hello everyone, when the noise first started I initially thought it was the blower, and I knew I was also due for an oil change on the supercharger unit, so I went ahead and did that. Now I'm unsure whether or not the sound is coming from the supercharger or the engine itself. I have also checked all the bolts on the pulleys and they seem to be intact. Can anyone help? |

Overheating, who has experienced this with their engine on a JRSC?
How common is a head gasket leak on these setups? Details: - started overheating only on track about 6 weeks ago - JRSC installed this time last year with zero issues concerning heat - only coolant is overheating, no issues with oil temps at all - drives and holds temps fine on street driving - on track, temps will rise by about 5-8 degrees per lap, until they reach 230F - coolant pressure test done, found a leaky heater hose, retightened and no difference - leakdown test done, was tight and no bubbles from coolant - HC coolant test ("engine block tester") came out negative - rad changed (twice), water pump, and thermostat, zero difference - replaced all hose clamps - bypassed heater core with no changes - no coolant in oil - no oil in coolant - no white smoke (running water and wetter) - no power loss - loses a very small amount of coolant during street driving, loosing lots on track but no visible leaks anywhere - heater core now always blows warmer (even on cold air setting) - AC stopped working Sounds like we've finally exhausted the coolong system. That leaves head gasket, or possibly cracks in the head or block (less likely). Thoughts? Real experience with similar issue? Sent from my SM-G965W using Tapatalk |

If you are still under warranty why would you be changing rotrex oil? That stuff lasts a ton of miles? |

I have almost 30k miles on the supercharger, but it has been 2 years. Probably a waste to change it before finding out that it actually is the blower, but I guess i just had to try and rule out the things that I can actually change.

May want to use a mechanic’s stethoscope or a long screwdriver and stick handle to ear and pin point noise source

Hi everyone so I need advice on which aftermarket diverter to go with. Been running the C38 JRSC for a while now and it's going strong. Honestly, I have no reason to replace the Bosch valve other than to have a metal valve and hopefully louder bypass noise. Not looking for a total VTA Btw. I've looked into forge, tial, and Amazon valves. What bypass valve are being ran on everyone's cars? What spring is best as well? Softest? Anyone try a tial valve with their 2 psi spring?
Also does anyone have one of those 50/50 valves? Those seem pretty interesting if even for the sound alone providing they don't mess with supercharger efficiency. Thanks everyone! |

So, from a longevity perspective, in your opinion, what would be proper mods? I've looked at your (extensive) modding - nice. Which would you suggest for longevity? (I'm in California, so do not think I'll be doing any other exhaust mods cause of CARB restrictions.) Do you think new engine mounts, or other bushings? Any of these, for that purpose. Jackson Racing Track Oil Cooler Forge Motorsports Recirculation Valve Radium PCV Catch Can Delicious Tuning eTune Fluidampr Dampening Pulley P.S. I am going through the related JRSC threads and trying to glean what I can, but its slow going to find useful bits. Tks for responding to my questions.
