Valve spring recall - other parts to replace?
I've had my '13 since new, it runs great, but the throwout bearing is staring to make noise and I have an oil leak from the timing chain cover. I figured now would be a good time to get the valve spring recall performed so I can address those issues as well as some get some maintenance done and bundle it in with the labor of the recall. I am looking for advice on any other maintenance items to include. Car has about 75k.
Any advice would be appreciated! |

Probably yes on the flywheel. Rock Auto had the best price on Exedy OEM replacements.
Replace the clutch fork and pivot while you have it apart. If you haven't had a problem with the springs at 75k, you might want to leave them alone. IMHO motor and transmission mounts are fine unless you want something stiffer. |

My throw out started going bad last fall.
I wouldn't have gone specifically for the valve springs at 90k, but my knee was f'd at that point and I couldn't hork things around effectively. It's a motor out job, so I took it in and had them do the clutch at the same time. Seem to have got lucky with them sealing things up OK, other than the dip-stick tube in the timing cover. That's seeping a bit, but only collecting a little dust right now rather than dripping. Also got an A/C refresh along with the coolant. Still an expensive operation if you have the dealer doing anything in addition.

Buyer beware. I ordered a clutch kit EXEDY PN: FJK1005 from RockAuto. It came in an unopened box but it had a 9 1/2" disc instead of a 9".
