The thread is old but thanks for sharing this article about the insurance claim denial due to an aftermarket exhaust. It's frustrating when insurance companies deny claims, especially for something like this. I can see how they might want to be informed of any modifications to a car, but it does seem like they're just trying to find reasons to charge higher rates. I'm insured with State Farm. And i paid coverage for the aftermarket mods. And it's fair and fine. They ask for money to insure the car to start with, what's the problem for asking extra money for new parts.
