Yeah, I'm still running the helper springs up front, can't see any threads left on the bottom of the front coils but I think it would turn a couple more times. The ride really isn't terrible. Going in for an alignment in a few days. I have the Whiteline camber bolts in (16MM) but I really don't know how much of a benefit they're giving me with a slotted upper hole. Either way, my goal is -2. |

the gap says you ain't a hardparker
no gap says i can smoke you on my winters love the gap make sensual love to the gap embrace the gap not the clothing store though, that place has gone to hell. * in all honesty, those cars with properly set up suspensions and just the right amount of gap look REALLY GOOD driving down the road, you can tell that the chassis is very stable and the wheels do all the work.... unlike a slammed car that bounces with every road imperfection.,

tein monoflex, a rear LCA, and some camber bolts?[/QUOTE tires and brakes you don't NEED any of that junk if you don't actually know what you need. Once you know what you need you won't be asking that question, and instead will ask technical questions about specific products that you've independently decided on purchasing.

I made it to page 13, loved the diagrams about the range of motion with a strut but was curious there was a lack of visual aides. btw: one of my favorite threads on this site.
So when Zdan says, "There's some gain in negative camber through most of the range until the peak in which positive camber gain is realized" (paraphrasing), I felt it needed to be visualized. So grab your Mac Strut range of motion animation: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2D0BHUm2BI"]Strut Suspension Camber Behavior - YouTube[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3LinpWfYjw"]www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3LinpWfYjw[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ljd9svmSVDw"]www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ljd9svmSVDw[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eexxbtbh8fM&list=SPDD4E280828C6A22D"]LPEpower episode 09 - Macpherson strut suspension - YouTube[/ame] Illustrating the importance of Strut Angle: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYjfZcTBumE"]www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYjfZcTBumE[/ame] Unequal length Double Arm animation [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkLmZ39qgO0"]www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkLmZ39qgO0[/ame] Start at 4:50. That would be a great setup with full alignment adjustability, since the Tein Monoflex includes a camber plate.

How do you guys feel about the RS*R sports-I motospec coilovers? They seem to be right in between the cheap junk you want to avoid and the nice stuff like KW and RCE. This would be on a DD application with occasional autox or track use.

that's sorta what they were specifically designed for, judging by the reviews, for your intended use, they would be perfect.

They perform exactly how they should for their price point. They're sprung to be pretty forgiving to less experienced drivers as well.

Concerning a rear lower control arm, what are the benefits of the method of camber adjustment these two SPC arms utilize?
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38527 To me, it seems the 67660 model (the "new" model) has an inferior camber adjustment method compared to the 67645 ("old") since the shock is not moved in relation to the knuckle.

I have a question regarding spring rates. With all suspension OEM, and using Enkei RPF-1 17X9 et +35 and BF Goodrich Rivals 255/40/17. I am torn between Motion Control 2 ways and the RCE Tarmac II coilovers. How would I go about selecting a good starting spring rate that doesn't end up with my tires being driven into the front fenders? My plan is to lower the car approximately .5 inch.
