i second this^ seems like these fans are the only weak point on this kit. @Reaper & @carlossanchez89 Did you have the Ceramic coating and the heat wrap on, and still had the fans crap out?

I don't get why people are having fan issues. Mine are over a year old and I'm not nice to my car and they still work fine

"The Frozen North"

I think your location has a lot to do with it? lol im playing

Nah but im betting you got the ceramic coating and thermal wrap and turbo blanket? I'm sure that helps the fans avoid some of that downpipe and turbo heat. Im no expert, but logically thinking that should be super beneficial. I intend on getting ceramic coating, thermal wrap, and turbo blanket options when i get my kit end of july.

Dei thermal wrap, ceramic coated, ptp turbo blanket, 80*f ambient temps, 8qt oil pan and car has never ran hot. Yet one fan died on this last dyno session and the other died in the parking lot right after.

It's just common sense when something is that close to the exhaust wrap it lol. I actually ran it for 8 months with just the ceramic coating and didn't have issues until I took it to brainerd in the 105° heat and even then it didn't overheat it just ran warmer

P0108(MAP sensor error) my car is running rich, this may be the possible cause, also traction control indicating light(when you start spinning) is constantly lit. No control over traction control or cruise control. Anyone know the possible causes!

The traction/cruise happen when there is a CEL so it's because of the MAP sensor issue. How much boost are you running? If you are on the stock MAP sensor maybe you've exceeded its capability.

I contacted LJ, I just did a reflash of a tune and it fixed the MAP sensor issue along with everything else. Must have just been a faulty flash from before. Car runs less rich, just a base tune. Thanks guys!

for the guys with the spal upgraded fans.. what did you guys do at the connector? did you cut the spal connectors and the oem connectors and just wire them up?

i want it to be as plug and play as possible... but looks like getting oem connectors is impossible.
@FullBlown what about the shop car?

@Reaper Well dam lol at least i know the upgrades will keep temps down pretty dam good. You mind showing me what you did to heatshield your motors? Im going all out on trying to protect those dam Fans lol.
@Dipstik-sportech Yes common sense is correct, I'm definitely not cutting corners when trying to protect those fans from heat, Oklahoma summers are mostly 100+ F, granted my summer will only be about 2 months this year lol But I always think about longer term.

My downpipe was ceramic coated and heat wrapped, and my slim fans also worked fine for over 15,000 miles.

I burned up my slim fans and now have the oem fans in. I have 2 pieces of aluminum wrap on the upper support bar as seen in the pic.
