Need some help, how to disingage the rear UCA ball joint.
Hey guys, I'm trying to get some bushings installed and these ball joints are really holding things up. I've got all of the bolts out of the control arm. I can get some movement of the ball joint stem, but only about a quarter of an inch. After that it just comes to a hard stop.
Any help would be really appreciated! |

I remember reading somewhere you need some force to get them out, safest way would be a balljoint fork, but a big hammer will probably do the trick as well.
Do the rear knuckles have a pinch bolt, or just a bolt that locks in with a groove on the ball joint? If it's a pinch bolt you might have some luck opening up the knuckle a bit with a prybar (where the pinch bolt would hold it closed).

Never mind. I was hoping for an elegant answer but in the end it just needed more brute force and ignorance than I was expecting.
