since its in Germany could they be testing something for the BMW project with a different chassis and the new aero just to throw people off?

Yeah, could be. The articles speculate the intake manifold though not the actual intake. Who knows though, it's all speculation. Would make sense for them to change the header to get rid of the dip, would be simple and cheap.
