Whoa, didn't see that coming. Was expecting the biggest surprise to be either supercharge or turbocharger. Does seem hard to make work in an inexpensive car, but we shall see.

Really? Last time I drove my GSX on pump gas, 140 mile round trip (making around 480awhp) I averaged 32mpg. its called a light foot, no need for electronic bullshit motors turning something fun into a new hippie target car. /rant. “So,” he continues, “We’re looking at a next-generation hybrid. More like the TS030 Le Mans Prototype. We’re looking into that possibility.”
Rad. Rad rad rad rad rad rad rad. First affordable KERS? FiRSt KERS. Thankfully early-adopters won't be swayed by possibly expensive repairs or teething issues. Go baby go! |

This is cool. I think KERS is a better idea for a hybrid than the current semi-electric method used today. Not to mention it can be done without the batteries that make current hybrids eco-disasters.

I agree... KERS is very interesting. No idea how you would make that affordable, though.

KERS sounds interesting and all, but there's a reason why its not very common: exotic (needs some kind of fancy flywheel/battery set-up), expensive and has a potential of adding too much weight for such a light weight, back to basics sports car IMHO. Makes for good headlines though, I hear Subaru is developing a turbo for the BRZ... (kidding)
