We get it Irace, you are a Honda fanboy and don't like the GR Corolla. Hail Honda forever. lol Go enjoy your K swap BRZ or buy a CTR. Point is, people can like and enjoy what they want. This car is more appealing to me, objectively and subjectively. No one should have to defend why something is more appealing than another product unless it deals with their Wife or their second wife.

My last car was a fwd Volvo C30 making 311hp/372lb-ft. I didn’t have a quaife front diff in it and it could torque steer like a motherfucker. A couple dudes did an awd conversion and were able to put power to the ground better.
Maybe the ctr doesn’t have those problems? Maybe the grc would? Using data from the extremes of a vehicle’s capabilities certainly isn’t the way to justify what a car is to the Everyman though. You’re not setting time attack records or Nurburgring records. You’re driving a car from a company that makes fucking Camrys and Accords. |

I'm sure you're aware of the numbers floating around in Japan that indicate the Type R will be a little more than the FK8, so about $40k here. Quote:
Reminds me of a survey or something I'd heard of where a bunch of people swore to god that Toyota made the Accord, or Honda made the Corolla or something like that. Couldn't find it with a quick google. Fun quirks of humanity. |

Performance-wise, most people, given the option, don't want all the power going through the front wheels. It's the least appealing option. Overwhelmed tires, unbalanced chassis, weight transfer in the wrong direction, torque steer, and completely mudding up any steering feel and feedback. These items aren't opinion, they are facts. Do some people care about all those negatives? Sure, some don't (But the issues are still there). Can you "make it work"? Of course, but why bother if you don't have to.

As someone who grew up when the Evo and STi first came out stateside, the Corolla is really attractive to me. Light weight, hatch, AWD, turbo, good chassis. It's a modern day Evo that doesn't have a crappy interior and a far more reliable engine. I don't really need the practicality of it, but damn the package is attractive. I'll either get one of these for a GR86 Performance Pack if they come out with one. There won't be many more cars that are this focused in the future.

Not sure why everyone seems to think they should edict what others should drive. @WolfpackS2k not picking on you specifically. I know plenty of pickup truck drivers that can't understand why anyone would drive anything else. Applies to just about any mode of transportation.

Apparently every other person drives them 10/10 all the time even on their morning commute! Hell just a month ago I had the audacity of saying I didn't care about weight when talking about the new Z! https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...&postcount=358

I hope no one felt the need to defend their choice, when I was asking what was appealing about the car most for them. Kind of like a poll with more explanation than just select: (motor), (awd), (looks), (value), (utility)…someone saying AWD for region or for rallying or for safety or for performance or multiple is all different reasons.

Frankly, I would like the 1.6T over the other engines just because of D4S; from a tuning perspective, it is just so nice. But again, that would be my interest, so I’m wondering what others are thinking.
