I see it. The C-HR GR Sport is higher and toned down, but Toyota styling and similar build.

I don't see it...
they look vastly different. I cant really notice anything that looks remotely smilar between the two.....

I think it looks a little bit more GR Yaris from the back than GR Corolla to be honest.

They aren't identical. The shared form factor and Toyota design language makes them similar. That's all.

It's more a family resemblance than anything and if pushed I like the GR C-HR a bit better than either the Yaris or the Corolla, particularly in two tone yellow or red. I think it has more to do with it being a more "honest" sports version of the original car from an external design prospective.

My 20 year old self would have taken any of the three, my 60 old self, they are all a little to racer boy....

As said don't focus on the details just glance at them. If any one of those drove by and you just got a quick glimpse you would know it was Toyota but may not be 100% sure which one. It is very deliberate on the designers part of course.

@Irace86.2.0 great post on the previous page. Really liked it.

I have a bone to pick with the Focus RS vs Mustang GT comparison though, haha. I've driven both on the Tail of the Dragon and I have to say, not impressed with the RS at all. Ignoring the horribly cheap interior, the car didn't feel that fast to me (on this instance it was driven back to back with my Cayman S). You could really feel the weight up front (over 1000 lb more weight on the front of the car than my Cayman) and the driving position sucked.

Was a different visit, but my friend's Mustang (was actually a Boss 302, not a GT) with the solid rear axle was much more fun on the Dragon.

It's been a while so I don't recall the RS's MSRP but its hard to justify it costing more than a Mustang GT IMO. The only real draw to the RS IMO is that it's a do everything car. You can take it to the track, the mtns, camping and drive it year round thanks to AWD. Easier to live with than a Mustang.

Yeah.

They all seem to look like CUV's. A regrettable form factor all around.

Not sure I agree with this, as a co-owner of a Mustang. I mean why is AWD a requirement to drive year round? You just need a good set of tires. All the other things being equal all these things can be done in either one.

AWD + all season tires is a great way to slide into a telephone pole.

I’m in the camp that would prefer to have RWD for a sports car for less weight and less drivetrain losses. I have no need for AWD because I wouldn’t go in snow or off-road at any point. We have the Q5 for ski trips.

i go in snow, and i'd still prefer rwd. with rwd, i can at least manipulate both pairs of axles. fwd/awd is really just varying throttle input and hoping for the best.

If you live somewhere that routinely gets snow, I absolutely agree. but if you also live somewhere that routinely gets snow, then AWD + snow tires trumps RWD+ snow tires.

Not for the GRC (lol). Did the FoRS let you adjust front/rear? (didn't the STI?)

I think you misread my intent. Yes, AWD+tires may be better than RWD+tires but it doesn't mean AWD is a requirement. That was my only point.
