Maybe fake exhausts will catch on.
So you are saying teenagers that sell dope will still be doing donuts at 1am next to my house? Great.

This looks great. The Hornet and this are great looking designs. Much better than the outgoing models. I hope they can keep it looking similar when they make it.

At least that’s what I got from the article.

Nice piece of wasted engineering. Sorry, but I don't want fake noise in an EV, or any car for that matter.

here's 2022, from what i can tell, one of the first years they've tested an ev:

they tested the mach-e. it comes in at or near the bottom of almost every test except braking and mpg, with major point reductions in interior space/comfort. so it's somewhat unlikely that many departments will buy many for general use.
The they will be driving Volts was a joke but little did I know

Pretty much any vehicle can be and is used as a police car. I see the one below (a smart) all the time. One of the local jurisdictions uses it when responding to or patrolling the Silver Comet Trail which passes within walking distance of my home.

It is a gimmick for sure, but we know the market for the Charger and Challengers. Those people want loud. Then, other people will hear it and want it too. The car market will have to respond when shoppers go in to buy a car and ask the dealer why it doesn't have any noise.

I'll be most curious to see how it is designed on the inside and how it all comes together to be more than "just a speaker." From there, I'm guessing you could figure out how to make an EV sound like anything, even a 250 GTO.

The 250GTO sounds great, but it produces it's own sounds (well with a little exhaust system tuning).

I don't know, it just feels a little like fake it to make it to me. No personal interest in an internal or external sound creator.

That said, I do get some folks would want this just like they want their cars tuned a certain way just to make noise, or fellow bikers that think their motorcycle needs to rattle windows "to be safe". Just not my style.

Not bad, I might go for like the dial up modem noises. Obviously progressively getting louder as acceleration increases.

That was pretty much what they did with the Challenger back in 2008.
