You may wish to check your VIN # and see if it was produced after the factory "fix" was put in place.

See:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...6&d=1352490977

If your VIN # larger than the one shown ("709026"), you may not be infested ....

At least that's the way I read that TSB.

hmmmm........are you sure the sound is just not the fuel pump making its "normal" chatter/ticking sound. Mine sounds sort of like a valve on a solid valve tappet engine of old .... that needed to be screwed down about a quarter turn .... ??

Well, darn ..... I reckon you might consider getting your HPFP changed out.

Or try to find some gas without ethanol and give that a try.

Got the car almost exactly a week ago. Got rid of a ratty old Mercury Sable and slipped into a Raven FR-S, just in time for a new job and a new, bigger paycheck.

Excited to spend the next couple years with my baby. Definitely makes me look forward to the morning commute.

What's funny is that Starkville no longer has its own Jail anymore. Gotta go to County.

I love that people actually catch onto that reference though.

Yes, this is the cricket noise I was referring to. I've already had 2 warranty replacements for the fuel pump (last one was last month!). And of course.. she still chirps like a bird. As a present, the dealership also scratched my window tint, and loosely connected the hose to the fuel pump. The hose got disconnected and left me stranded about an hours drive away from the dealership. I got towed an hour back to the dealership so that they could find out why my car died and re-connect the hose..

Fun stuff... ): 32000km, 1 yr old.
