Ordered, or should I say put my name on the list, for a Perrin 3.0 exhaust for late February delivery.

I used to own those wheels and really loved them. Same spec you ordered. Work has always offered the 5x100 pattern in most of their wheels. It's just that distributors don't stock them and they are too lazy to explain in their sites that they can be ordered in custom patterns, widths and offsets. Whatever workwheelsusa.com has in their product spec sheet can be ordered.

Any Work distributor can order them. You just have to contact them if they are not listing the specs you want. I can recommend System Motorsports.

Does anyone have the courage to PPF their own car? Just noticed that xpel has pre-cut kits. If I can't find a reasonably priced shop around me, I may give it a go (front bumper) but then I think to myself... that's almost $500 I'll likely end up throwing away lol.

Hey Mike,

That's a bummer - sorry to hear.

To clarify (please correct me, I'm assuming); you purchased wheels/tire combo on Tire Rack and had Tire Rack install the TPMS sensors before shipment as part of their package, then when you put the new wheel/tire set on the car and tried to have them registered as the second TMPS set, it wouldn't; then went to your dealership and they stated they could not do it without de-tiring the wheels to look at the TMPS sensor part number - to presumably have the part number coded with the onboard sensor system?

I'm surprised - I was under the impression with the 2nd gen a second TPMS sensor set could be registered naturally but by this account the Tire Rack's sensors are not compatible with the BRZ... This should be brought up to Tire Rack, because what would the point of having them installed before shipment be if they will need to be taken out afterwards.

I did a Tire Rack bundle on the S2000 with sensors and had no issues, I had also purchased some Amazon sensors for the 911 when the battery went low on OEM; they also paired up without issue... But both of those are older cars and likely less finicky ECUs.

$500 and a difficulty rating of 5/5. No thanks.

Would rather save that $500 and if the front bumper gets peppered, have it resprayed in 10 years (assuming I even keep the car that long).

You are correct in everything you said...up until the point you said "I'm surprised."

The TPMS sensors on a second set of wheels need to be registered at a Subaru dealership according to the Owner's Manual...you cannot do this at home by just mounting the new wheels/ tires and sensors and pushing the button in the glove box.

One needs the sensor ID #s, which I hopefully will be able to get at Discount Tire with their handheld scanner, and then be able to take the car to the Subaru dealership to register them to my car.

Many cars I've owned, other than my BRZ, have been really easy to have the new sensors pair with the car. The BRZ is not one of them. When I put a set of OZ wheels and tires on my Focus ST, all I needed to do was mount them on the car, and the car took care of everything as far as sensor pairing.

My Tirerack sales guys told me that Subaru is the absolute worst car manufacturer in the world regarding pairing sensors to cars.

Did you try using the carista app. I clearly have the Gen 1 and have had no issues pairing sensors when mine have gone (due to low battery). Use the carista app and their blue tooth dongle, buy a pre programmed sensor for your make and model. It comes with its sensor code, just code that in using the app ( as simple as deleting the old one and typing some numbers and letters in) and Voila the new sensor is configured.
For the new one, clearly there are 2 sets of hex codes stored in ECU but worth checking Carista.

This is far above my pay grade to answer this.

All I know is that the Gen 1 and the Gen 2 are totally different, Something that works for a Gen 1 does not necessarily work for a Gen 2 2022 BRZ.

I thought I read somewhere it works.. I am definitely not sure about this either but this is not ECU but Dash/ OBD2 connection which remains constant irrespective.. the tyre pressure shown on Dash display come from OBD2 . Worth a try for the 20$ initial cost. If nothing it can be used for torque Pro as an obd2 to measure data.

Got to playing with some CF vinyl wrap today. Still very newb at it, not perfect work, but the subtle accents fit so perfectly.
