I mean there is nothing to lose from it. I am planning on modifying my intake and exhaust next, thought might as well also do the manifold.

Obviously 2HP is a very very tiny gain, this is not what I am hanging onto. Just strengthens the "why not" argument I guess.
To give a bit of context, a K&N (or any other name brand) in the stock airbox has been dyno tested to net 4-5 whp gain. So 3 whp is really minimal.

It's:
-spending big bucks on a cosmetic mod one cannot see
-terrible hp / $ return if you want to mod for power

Unless you're building a show car that'll spend some time with the hood open, I can't really see the point.

That being said, if you decide you like it, knock yourself out . There are much worse mods to make (*cough* pop tune *cough*).

If you're gonna go through the trouble of making the manifold work, its probably a better idea to do the intake and exhaust upgrades at the same time instead of at 3 different times. Might as well make that work not go to waste.

The grand total rated increase for the facelift cars was 5HP. That includes all the changes to the intake, manifold, exhaust, valves and tune. Thinking you are getting anything even remotely measurable out of just that manifold is optimistic at best. It does look much nicer though!

Do you have the ability to tune? If not you are probably wasting your time and possibly asking for nothing but problems as the stock tune will not be setup for this manifold.

I thought there was an issue where the pre-facelift DI ECU bracket (which grounds it) wouldn't bolt onto the new intake manifold

There's been so many little changes to this motor that getting ANYTHING from a facelifted motor to work on a pre-facelift motor is a complete pain in the ass and may not even be worth the trouble. MAYBE less so with an AT equipped one since only the facelifted MT models got the red intake manifold and the +5hp/+5torque bump.

Of course in this case theres no real point in persuing an AT motor since it uses the exact same black plastic manifold as every prior year.

The MY17 has bespoke ECU/Fuel rail covers. Just bolt them on and it’s fine. Or a bit of cutting and the MY13s fit. Or one can use the Verus ECU brackets that work on all Gen1s.
