Red face Borla UEL paired with Invidia N1 Drone Help!

Hey guys, I picked up a 2017 BRZ not too long ago and got around to doing my first mods yesterday.

I fitted a Borla UEL header and an Invidia N1 exhaust. The setup sounds amazing when I get on it, but there's way too much drone. To the point where it gives me a headache under normal driving. The only way I can minimize the drone is by keeping the revs between 2000 and 2300 with very little throttle input.

My question is what can I do to minimize the drone. Would a different catback help? As far as I understand the drone is mainly because of the catback, not the header. Anyone have a catback to recommend.

I've also heard that a resonated front pipe will help?

Please help, this drone is driving me crazy...

Get a new exhaust. The N1 is obnoxious enough as is and had you done any research before pairing the N1 with a catless header, you'd have read just about everyone complaining about it being too loud and mega droney.

Yep, get a new exhaust. The Q300 is much quieter.

If you have the stock front pipe on the car currently, changing it wont help. You could go to an exhaust shop and see if they can weld in another resonator.

And this is why I look into things before buying them.

Get a helmholtz resonated front pipe, it will get rid of most of the drone. I did this before I decided too much of my hearing was lost and switched back to a Q300

I had done some searching and seen some videos of it but they don't touch on the drone at all. I was just looking for something with a deep tone and the videos made it sound like the best choice.

It sounds like stock. Couldn't really tell that I had a header lol.

Not my car.

As others said, new exhaust. Been there, done that. Invested into sound deadening. Bought an HKS dual-resonated front pipe, sounded better but still stupid loud. Went with HKS Legamax premium. Miss the sound but for daily sanity it was the best decision ever.
