That whole area in NC is great driving territory. Only two or three hours from my home in NW Georgia.
@Stephen W. it doesn't look like it, but did you get over to Lake Lure? Great little town and is the site where Dirty Dancing was filmed. Some great back roads in that area too if you know where to look. It's on the other side of the continental divide from where you were. Helen, at the bottom of you loop is a fun little stop too, for those that don't know. A full Bavarian village right in the middle of the Georgia mountains.

Old concern. All those areas have been gentrified enough the riff-raff has moved out. I hear most of them moved west to Washington state....

I'd have to go check the car but I think in total door to door with all our side trips we put on 4600 kilometers. Ran into rain several times and most of Sunday from when we left Murphy NC right through until we stopped for the night about an hour short of Erie Penn. Most important; Did Not Crash! (others did...) |

What I did today was cross 23K miles on my much loved 2017 BRZ Premium.
Now time for my first tire replacement. The original Primacy HP tires have performed beyond admirably (perfect for my driving style, purposes, etc.). Only hot weather (South Florida), so summer tires only. Unfortunately the Primacy HP doesn't seem to be manufactured anymore and I'm not interested in a 2nd hand set, even if (like) "new". I've zeroed on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S as my 1'st choice-- Questions: Are these a good summer tire for the Twins? From my reading they will provide more grip than the stock Primacy but I'm assuming (correctly?/incorrectly?) they won't spoil the fun (I never really fully break grip even in rain, but did enjoy the "slippery" feel of the Primacy tires). Any other suggestions (than Pilot Sport 4S)? Wisdom here has always been extremely helpful, hence (and as always) thanks in advance. |
