Hi

I reckon it would be a waste of money. Most of the stone chips usually happens at the front.

It is quite expensive to do the whole car. I don't think it is necessary to do the roof or the boot for example. The doors are also a maybe, it won't prevent dents from other people opening their door onto yours but it will prevent paint damage.

The main problem areas are the front, bonnet, side view mirrors, and possibly the sides closest to the the road. This is around R14k.

Did the prices go up?

Paid just over R7k for the whole front including lights and mirrors.

I don't know it was a rough quote over the phone. Best will be to take the car there. You are also advised to make a booking and you need to leave your car there for 1/2 days if you want to have it done.

Which shop is that?

I've dropped mine off in the morning and got it back around 4 the same day.

Edenvale. It will depend how much you want done. I think they were just being on the cautious side.

Was driving on the highway when this $!!#@$% on a bike came flying past in the yellow lane and shot a rock straight up in the air which then ended up bouncing off my car's bonnet with a solid "TWANG!!!".

No dent, chip, nothing - VPS FTW!!
