Ask them to plug it into Techstream and check - it'll most probably be greyed out. If it does have one then it'll still be greyed out because it's most probably an aftermarket alarm.

Probably one of my first gripes was that the 86 is far from being a normal Toyota - lots of scooby in there.

I saw that.. subaru badges everywhere. only question the brz has a red button on the remote which the 86 doesnt have, so the brz may have a factory alarm....?

But I mean it has the same loust 3 button key as a corolla, why not dig in the parts bin and fit the alarm as well.

My 2014 FRS came with an alarm. Bought brand new and the key fob has the red button as well. Just makes the normal beeps when locking/unlocking

my subaru does not have the red button!! No alarm either

Now that you've made me aware of this, my paranoia has intensified. I can't believe that I've had this car for 8 months and I've never found it strange that I've never heard its alarm going off.

Okay, now lets hear solutions to this problem... Is it possible to get subaru dealer to install the alarm/immobilizer on 86?

Oh now that I think of it, I may have told my insurance that I have a factory fitted immobilisers. Darn it!, now my premium will increase.

It's got a factory fitted immobilizer, just not an alarm. You could get an Autowatch unit installed, just make sure it's Toyota/Subaru approved.

I'm not so concerned about the alarm, if these guys want to break in or steal the car, you bet your ass an alarm is not going to slow them down.
