Hello,
A bit of background on myself. I had a '97 Miata w/ 60k miles on it. fantastic shape. A few weeks ago I was headed home from school and a police car was coming up from behind. So of course, everyone pulls over to the right and stops. The police car blows by and I look in my rear view mirror and some kid is haulin ass. I see smoke shoot up behind his car as his tires lock up. I panic, tell my gf to hold on, and accelerate as much as I can before the kid hit us. He bent my frame and the car was totaled everyone was fine. I had small whiplash but never filled the scipts for the pain meds. I was planning on buying a new car anyways after I graduated (think Forester XT). But after driving a focus rental for 2 weeks and my GFs Hyundai Accent for 5 weeks (both automatics) I missed my Miata thoroughly. I used to work at a Toyota dealership so I stopped by just to drive an FRS thinking I wouldn't be that interested. They had a used white-out m/t with 3k miles, a dark tint, clear bra, and the TRD exhaust and I fell in love . I purchased it the next morning I think I got a good deal too. I paid 24.5k and got a low APR. That sound reasonable for a used FRS with those options? Needless to say I couldn't be happier! But unfortunately I can't pick it up until weds as it hasn't gone through Toyota's certified inspection yet The waiting is driving me crazy! |

Hey
Hey guys/gals, just picked up my FR-S two days ago and immediately started looking for a great forum to read and learn from. Funny thing is, I went in to test drive a Prius with no intention of even looking at everything else... and I ended up with the FR-S instead hah!
So, long story short, left the euro world (traded in the 07 bmw 335i coupe) and I'm looking forward to being a part of the 86 community. Cheers, James |

I made sure to watch a few mechanical demonstrations as to how the clutch and transmission functioned - made a huge difference! |

I absolutely agree. It was getting pretty old. Still a great car tho and it will be missed. But even a modern miata is getting pretty dated. Mazda looks like they are slowing coming back to life and hopefully the new Miata will follow. A little healthy competition will do wonders for this segment

Ah, yes. Scranton. I've learned pretty much everything there is to know about your town from a TV show.
I'm digging that from lip.

Hi everybody, my name is Chris and I will be picking up my Asphalt FRS on Wednesday at noon. Paperwork is done and pretty basic but I'm in for the drive, not for the audio. I've driven 2 different ones and I love how they drive.

Hi guys. My name is Rick and I am from the western burbs of Chicago. I am thinking about picking up an FRS to learn to race with. I currently own a 2009 Civic and a 2012 R8 v10. In the past I've owned a 2001 Camaro SS, 2008 M3 (supercharged with 625hp), 2006 Lexus GS430 and a 2007 Audi S4. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can about the FRS on this forum!
Here is the M3. I miss this car. And here is the R8 before some mods. The orange side markers are blacked out and the front grille is all black with no front plate now. It also has fabspeed exhaust. |

Hello folks... I've had my FR-S for over 3 months now and I LOVE IT. My only regret is that I wish I'd found this forum sooner! The DIY article on adjusting the clutch pedal was very helpful. It's nice to hear from other owners talking about the same things that I talk about.

Hello everyone, I just recently obtained my new firestorm red FR-S for my birthday and I was loving it. Unfortunately it had some major engine issues so its back at the dealership.
