It fits into the standard tray, but you might need a new bracket. I am using a custom hold down block from my Phantom ESC kit. A few companies (including Odyssey) make them for the PC680, Amazon has a few, even more with an internet search (Ebay, Bing, Google, etc).

I'm a big fan of my Ballistic Evo2 battery, can't speak for daily drivability, but I can say that it's sat for up to a month in the winter without being connected to a charger and started the car right up. Plus it weighs in at 2.5 lbs...

it honestly depends how much you drive. If your commute is long enough to charge the battery then you will be fine. It if is not you will be in trouble.

If you are not familiar with creating your own battery tray, either have it professionally done or buy a ready made solution.

I'm considering it the most because it's by far the best option in my price range as far as I can tell, full package wise. I honestly can't really afford to drop $400 on the KCMachine because I set my price limit to ~$250+/- for this particular expenditure.
Looking for any firsthand experience with FT86Speedfactory's lightweight battery kit.

Alot of these batteries are the same battery usually Mfg. in the same plant. Then the third party puts an $800 sticker on it.With Li-Io shop by specs needed then price.

@n8dog11914 I talked to a random guy who had one in his daily driving build thread and he said it was running just fine for a long time, and he lives in MD if I remember correctly. I'm still looking for more reviews though.

I wish there was an "Enthusiast Consumer Reports" to test all of these lithium batteries. I really think they are the future, but they need real honest testing and data to refute and/or confirm some of the claims made by the manufacturers or sellers. Also, a good manual on how to properly care for them, how to treat them in cold weather, and possible mods to the car's charging and/or starting system to better use these batteries. Automakers spend $$$$$ trying to eke out every last MPG on some cars with all kinds of goofy features and electronic gizmos, but apparently haven't yet tried to research the weight savings available in lithium starting batteries (they do in electric vehicles though, and they seem to work fine there).

This. There is only 2 or 3 battery manufacturing plants in the USA, and all the different batteries and brands come from them. Battery brands are worse than GM at renaming crap.

I ran an Antigravity 20 cell for 2 years in an Evo before I sold the car. Worked great for me, just a bit slow to start after sitting for about 3-4 days in the winter in TN (so no colder than usually 15-20F at night). I plan on one for this car with a PTuning mount.

If it is a DD, I would not suggest running a small battery unless you are diligent about hooking it up to a tender. Another thing that sucks about such a tiny battery is the reserve charge. Don't expect to listen to your stereo for any extended period of time. In fact, I kill my radio as soon as the engine stops running. IMO, it's just not worth it unless it's a weekend car.

I have a PC680 as the starter battery for an ESC setup. Works fine can't even tell the difference between stock.

I am using a Yuasa 44B19L battery:



It is almost half the weight of the OEM battery and still useful in a daily driven car. It fits perfectly in the BRZ RA's battery holder (Japan spec). So, no need for custom solutions.

I replaced the following Subaru parts. Part numbers are for the new ones:

Tray-Battery
82122CA010 x 1

Rod-Battery Fix
82161AG001 x 1

Holder-Battery Fix
82182AG010 x 1


Dimensions of the battery:
Length (mm) 187
Width (mm) 127
Height (mm) 225

Any other battery with similar dimensions will work.
