The paddles you used in those cars are still automatic transmissions. I'll agree with you they are terrible. But newer DCT transmissions are wayyyy faster than any manual. Go try a new M6 dct, GTR, porsche gt3/turbo... There is no way you can hustle a 500-600+hp car on a circuit and be as fast as the DCT. period.

I will agree with you that using a dct tranny in normal and somewhat spirited drive is ALOT less involving than paddles.
