I'd go for a donut for sure. Goop makes lots of performance tires unrepairable, but at least with a donut I can limp somewhere to get a fix done.

Just have to remember to swap front/rear wheels if the puncture is in the rear tire so you don't screw up the diff

Those pictures are of that red Nur-spec 86 from a while back. I'd imagine that has something to do with it.

It looks like they will include collapsable wheel chocks (the white item in the upper part of the picture)... nice touch.

^Good eye, looks like another part of the track theme they're promoting.

I carry a set to the track for tire changes and to chock the wheels at track days (no e-brake between runs). Just a little extra security, especially in the paddock at Buttonwillow.

My GTO came with them too. Because you should never jack up a car without chocking a wheel, but people tend to not learn that lesson until after they see a car fall off a jack.

I then lowered the car, jacked up the front right, removed the wheel/punctured tire, replaced with full sized wheel/tire from right rear.
Just out of curiosity, you had to do this because of the LSD? What would happen if you put a donut and a regular tire on the transmission axel equipped with LSD? Just wondering.

A LSD expects you to have equal sized tires for it to transfer torque properly from side to side. If not, the torque transfer gets all wonky because grip characteristics are different even in a straight line at part throttle. It overworks itself and will eventually grenade itself.

I know this is a problem with viscous and clutch types. S2000 had a torsen and the recommend it there too, so I would do it just to be safe.

OK, I was thinking it may be something related to this. I have never owned a car with LSD so I do not know this problem. Thanks, learn something new today.

The spare should be the same rolling diameter of the wheel it replaces. Space savers are not, which is why they really should only be used to limp the car home and the tire should be fixed or replaced immediately.
