How accurate is Torque program

How accurate is the Torque program? I did a 0-60 run in my totally stock 2013 FRS. Well I have cooper tires on the stock rims. I drive the AT cause my wife does not want to learn MT and might need to drive it in a emergency. ONLY IN AN EMERGENCY! lol So the time 0-60 for AT is supposed to be 6.8 or so. I did it in 6.0 sec which does not seem right considering the MT is said to be 6.2. Thoughts?

Not very lol! I would say give or take 1 seconds maybe more.

Assuming it's using the phone's onboard GPS (can someone confirm?), those are usually 1 Hz, meaning they only update position/speed once a second. Anything between two readings is interpolated.

There's also a lot of other variables at play like temperature, surface conditions, etc. etc.

So in short, not very.

I believe you can choose in the settings whether or not the dials show obd ecu speed or GPS speed and can compare them. But in general torque is not accurate it tends to overestimate things like the virtual dyno feature is a horrible attempt

Also important note a K&N filter would no way yield a .8 second improvement if we're assuming a perfect environment and conditions (launch, tire temp etc) A maximum you'd get is 5 HP according to some dyno tests. I don't think that's near enough to shed .8 of second off an AT.

I don't think 6_2 is accurate for stick. I know Ive got to be faster. I say high 5s but I don't have stock primacy tires and all traction is on. Like you I think it's faster. I wonder what FI 86s are doing 0 to 60

I can get 60 pretty quick. Think I'll time it and see. I think if you shift in the upper rpms and you grab the ground, you should be lower than 6 2. Just my thoughts with no science to back it. Yet

@Riftur

I havent added the K&N when I did the 0-60. I just added it right before I posted the thread. I was planning on doing a 0-60 on my way to work tomorrow.

I am not sure about doing much better than 6.2 even with tires. I also know that I could not tell if doing 6.2 or "high fives" just by sitting there driving.

if you're worried about a 0-60 time in an FR-S, you're gonna have a bad time.

The program is only as accurate as the device being used to measure... in this case, your phone.
