Going Supercharged - Need Input!

I went with the Kraftwerks C30 kit and its still sitting in my living room ready to be installed. Reason I picked this kit being:

1. Close to 300 whp on 93 octane
2. Daily driveable
3. Survive the Texas heat and run cooler.
4. Not kill the transmission with hard torque like a turbo does with it's huge rush of boost.
5. Reach a nice balance of power without ruining the car.
6. Not have to replace the clutch, and injectors (May possibly later since I know the stock injectors will be pushed at high rpm. It's a must for E85 though.)

My buddy has a Stage 2 P&L turbo kit with rocket bunny v2 and he can't even keep it on the road with 500 rwhp. It's awesome for bragging rights and dyno numbers, but it's dangerous to drive. Not to mention heat is killing him here. I can barely walk by his engine without feeling the fire coming from the turbo when he pops the hood.

I'm caught between using the Innovate kit, or the Jackson Racing kit. I've read through a bunch of the owners threads, reviews, vids etc... but I'm hoping to find some additional insight to point me in the right direction.

Has anyone had any great, or awful experience with either of these kits?

I have not had any problems with my vortech kit on the 3.125 pulley at 11psi of boost. I'm actually selling the kit soon as I'm going turbo in a few weeks. Feel free to pm me if your interested.

I've had the innovate kit for about a 9-10 months now.. no issues what so ever *knocks on wood*.

For me atleast it's been a very low maintenance addition and I love it. Made the mistake of not getting a header to go along with it, but that mistake will be rectified shortly after I my Tomei EL comes in . It's really a matter of personal opinion.. The Innovate won't give you jaw dropping numbers but it definitely makes it feel like a completely new car with some serious umph down low. Not to mention that addicting whine.

That being said.. a lot of great options out there, can't really go wrong with any of the "main stream" ones.. i.e. innovate/jackson/vortech. Just make sure you got a reputable and reliable shop/tuner.

Plenty of turbo options that will net you the same, with room to upgrade.
2. Daily driveable
I DD my tubo, ~12k miles including 2 cross-country road trips.
3. Survive the Texas heat and run cooler.
My cross country trips including stops in Texas, beat the piss outta it without issue.

"Rush of boost" .. I'm not sure what you're talking about. It's not like NOS in Fast n Furious. Torque is going to depend a lot on the size of the turbo. A bigger turbo running low boost will produce very simliar numbers to a SC in that it won't make much torque in the low-mid range.
5. Reach a nice balance of power without ruining the car.
SC or Turbo doesn't really matter.. either way you are changing the car. Either one could be considered ruining the car depending on how it's setup and who you ask.
6. Not have to replace the clutch, and injectors (May possibly later since I know the stock injectors will be pushed at high rpm. It's a must for E85 though.)
Same could be done with turbo, has nothing to do with SC vs turbo..

Nothing against superchargers, they certainly have advantages, but spreading so many myths about turbos doesn't help anyone..

You may have difficulty finding an Innovate kit... but yes, that supercharger whine is fun for making some V8 guy do a double take!

Correct, it's no longer the innovate kit back to being Sprintex.

315hp on a Mustang dyno, equivalent to ~365hp on Dynojet

Daily driver and monthly track car



Self installed.
I had issues with their oil cooler kit lines which have since been revised with new shipments.
I also have some movement in the SC belt but that has been partially resolved with adjustments to the tension and has been inspected by Kraftwerks to be all good.

I'd growth the upgraded sprinter unit or turbo... Turbo is easier, customizable and more flexible than turbo...
