Thanks
You can run E85 with the OFT, just takes a little more effort. There are threads on it in the tuning section.

I'm aware, I was wondering about the whole flexfuel setup, so I can fillup with anything I want at any time and not have to run tanks down to reflash etc etc.

Yes, that's the advantage of the flex fuel kit.

It's the only reason I'm considering selling my OFT, because I want to run a Flex Fuel kit since there aren't a ton of E85 stations around.

Nobody knows definitively. I don't think anyone has found it in the software the dealers have (TechStream) so you're probably safe there but that doesn't mean corporate doesn't have something fancier they can do if they're trying to avoid paying for a blown engine under warranty.

I suck at explaining what I want.

So my question is what it'll cost to run the flex fuel versus OFT and UEL header.

For the Flex fuel it'll be
649 for kit
749 for ecutek
UEL Header ~600
Anything else? Is there another tune that I need?

Of course labor if not installed by myself but that comes with either setup.

So total is 2,000, just double of the OFT OFH Combo?

I've flashed my car over 20 times with OFT, brought it in for some pricey warranty work which involved the ECU.

They didn't notice anything. As long as you flash your rom back to the original file before you bring it in, everything should be fine

Yet another great summary thread @steve99.

Have a look at the dynos for the P&L and JDL EL headers, when tuned they have a nice hump of torque in the mid-range, they never seem to start the dyno low enough to check the low down torque though.

My car sounds like no other car on the road, and I constantly get told that.
no worries deleted that, not trying to be offensive, just did not know how to describe EL header sound,

Im not up on all the Ecutek pricing

You will need a "flex Fuel" tune with Ecutek so it can read the flex sensor and adjust the timing/fueling ect this may be included with flex fuel kit pricing not sure.

the racerom feature pack is about $350 not sure if thats included.

What @phrosty said plus.
I have helped or know about four guys with issues related to ecu flashing requiring ecu replacement and all have been replaced under warantee.

The dealer suspected, but appeared they had no means of proving.

This also depends on the header design. A true EL header is made equal length from the back of the valve face. I think the PTuning EL header is within 1.7% variance between runner lengths, the best I have seen so far.

Did some flash tuning to my 03 Ford F250 with the 6.0TD. The consensus was returned it to stock before you took it in to get smogged or to get into the dealer a hundred miles before and they wouldn't know.
