As for tires, I'm probably gonna go with Yokohama S.Drives or BFG G-Force Sport Comp-2's. Whichever one gives me the better rebate when Spring time rolls around

Tires are made different and will fit different. the specs below I grabbed from tirerack.com

245/40/17 tire comparison

S.Drive tread width = 8.8"

BFG Sport Comp2 tread width 9.7"

Just something to think about if you are worried about clearance.

Compared to your 8" +40 wheel, His 9" wheel with a 5mm spacer wheel will be 7.7mm closer to the strut. And the outer rim edge will poke out 17.7mm more then yours.

Curious if this would fit on a 2017 brz:

17x9 + 38 Gramlight 57cr
245/40/17 MPSS
Eibach pro kit (~1" drop)

Yes, they will bolt on and should not rub, but...

You will poke a little.
There will be very little clearance between the rim/tire and spring/strut.
Adding camber bolts will decrease this clearance more.

If these things don't bother you, then yes they will fit.

Thank you sir!

Close to flush is my goal. So to reduce the poke I would need more negative camber (camber bolts) to suck the wheel towards the fender, but that would make the clearance issue worse?

Should I be very concerned about minimal clearance?

Maybe I should be looking at a narrower wheel/tire combo...

Greatly appreciate the help... there is a boatload of information to digest on this topic and I want to make an informed decision.

No problem.

Camber bolts "lean" the top of the wheel inward towards the strut.

After some research; this setup will work just fine. Read through this short thread.

What about these wheels on a 2017 86/BRZ on stock suspension?

Will these wheels fit with no rubbing or clearance issues? If yes, how much poke will there be?

Thanks

anyone know if a set of 18x8.5 +45 offset with a 245/35 in the front and 18x9.5 +45 offset rear with a 255 or 265/35 will have any clearance issues on bilstein b16 coils?

Anyone know what spacers to run on a lowered BRZ (probably 1.5”) with the performance package wheels? Will it be the same as the normal wheels or do I need to adjust for the wider wheel and go down a size in spacers. I’m thinking 15f/20r or 15f/25r.

As main bits in car parts/suspensions are same, just different sized wheels, and different brakes and coilovers, why would it be different? Check in wheel directory sticky thread opening post wheel flushness chart lines that are about PP wheel sizes for flushness offsets. I'd extrapolate what flushness for 1.5" lowering might be from difference between mentioned there stock heigh vs 1" lowered values.

Need some feedback on my new setup:

18x9.5 +38 offset - 255/35-18 Bridgestone S04 Pole Position - Fortune Auto 500 coilovers

Potential issues?
