Over here the engine with most after market is probably a Volvo B23 series engine, and other Volvo engines. They've been swapped into everything , and heaps of cheap parts available for high hp builds.
Though the B23 is a 4-pot, I've had dreams of putting a friend's T5 motor (B5254T7 according to wiki) in the 86. It would have everything: the smoothness, the noise, the torque, the potential .

The 5s are also common nowdays in rwd configurations, adapter plates for different gearboxes(bmw for example), turbo manfolds etc are all of the shelf parts ready for swapping.

Exhaust for LS, K, 2JZ are off the shelf or already available for aftermarket swaps, which is one reason why people swap those three engines so much. Same with the intake manifold and other accessories such as AC. Want a lightweight or Fluidyne damper then it is available. Having done a swap, and having done one-off parts, the more that is available the better. If Blueprint takes care of everything then cool.

It's about the same as a K series.

I really don't see this as being practical in a car for reasons you already stated. Vibration is going to be a key one. Maybe circle track guys could tolerate it, or builds that vibration isn't going to matter. I could see rock crawlers being all over this thing, I would have loved to have this as an option over the OM617 I went with in my Toyota. I think the 300/500 numbers they are talking is just without having to upgrade internals.

85’ 4Runner. Not finished yet. Sold it incomplete to a friend, I should have it done by June.

Kind of defeats the whole purpose of making a block compatible with existing LS heads. They aren’t trying to make a one-off engine, so while it would be cool to bend the FA24, bore and stroke it, lop off a set of valves, and relocate the camshaft to the block, I don’t think they will be making a high displacement V4.

If they were going to make a high displacement V4, and if they were building it off existing heads, then there are only a few options, and those options would be the EJ, FA and Porsche 718 engines, and they would be heavily stroked. Probably not going to happen.

Motus MV4 did the 100 cube V4 and there's a few kicking around.
Wasn't too successful though. Spec sheet link

About the same specs as an FA20.

About the same specs as an FA20.
Except at 150 pounds, it's a fraction of the size and weight as the FA20, and that's including the transmission.

EDIT: my bad...the Motus appears to have a divorced transmission, given that there are two sets of specs for dimensions...one with and one without transmission.
