From MKIV Turbo to FR-S

Who's looking into doing this? I have been apart of the supra crowd for over 13 years and now I think that I'm becoming a driver that wants more then just gobs amount of HP, I think my driving tastes have changed some, 95% of the time I don't go faster than I should, when I do I push it on back roads where high HP is not the goal, I find that fast in a striagh line is not as fun as racing on track or roads like them.

Who's thinking the same?
I'm looking at a blue 6spd, tinted windows, TRD body parts, exhaust, intake, breaks, and I will be going after aftermarket rims and calling it a day...maybe some upgraded sound.

Made that transition about 3yrs ago. Word of advice...DO IT! SO much more fun than straight line street racing or pushing on the back roads (which really isn't pushing it because you are to worried about ending up off the side of the road).

And your choice is almost identical to mine. Blue FRS FTW. I'm thinking a set of white Volk TE37s would look sick on it.

yeah I have made my monster a road car by changing the rims and tires ( front 255, back 275) adn lowered the car 1.2 inches which made a big difference, it is either this or an NSX, I'm likeing the rarity of the NSX but want the new car warrenty\feel\ care less about a cheap car...ect...

i went from a Z32TT to a S14 with KA24DET..to a rx7 Turbo 2.

I progressively went further and further down the power ladder for a better handling car.

it took some adjusting but i don't regret it. i found myself having more fun with a car with virtually no power in certain RPM ranges, where most people think its more important to have power in those same ranges.

getting older, and hopefully a bit wiser, i kinda learned that i can just as quick around the neighborhood without considering how much power i have, or worry about boost pressure.

yeah I'm getting older as well and my tastes are changing, I'm looking for more of a "feel" and "enjoyment " of driving than having the baddest car on the block.....damn it, I'm turning into my dad...LOL

You know what would look even better... a white FRS/BRZ on blue magnesium TE's! White wheels are such a pain in the ass to keep clean!

OP, brute HP is fun and going fast in a straight line is fun in all but nothing compares to being on a road course!

Before FT86 concept debuted at Tokyo Auto Show, I was thinking to get a used 370Z this year to replace my IS250. However, after FT86 announcement at the end of 2009, I decided to wait. I have always wanted a decent power, RWD, light weight sportcar, and FT86/FRS/BRZ is just what I have always wanted. Not that 370Z is not as good, but I personally want Subieyota more.

I'm contemplating whether to switch from my 08' mx-5 (with Mazdaspeed suspnsion kit and full Intake/Outake system). I love the car, especially after the upgrade, which makes a huge difference in handling and ads a noticeable increase in power (30HP according to some dyno charts). Is it worth the upgrade? Plus... I'll have to give up the drop top, which is so much fun

Then I say if you want to do it, do it now. Clear some space for FRS/BRZ.
