Track Pack worth it? DD that will see the track

I think I'm buying a BRZ in the nearish future. I'm thinking I want the performance pack specifically for the brembos. I could see myself putting MCS coilovers on the car down the road because I had AST on my track miata in the past and loved them. AST became MCS, is that right?

Any way, I'm thinking I'd like to have the brembos for the track. Is there any reason I don't want them? The possible reasons I can think of would be:

1) they limit wheel selection (but I think I'm happy with the stock wheels, I'd be putting something like an RS3 on the car at some point).

2) I assume there are good pad choices for street and track? I'd likely change out pads for track events (I only plan on dong 1-2 events a year).

Depends. If you want the beefier suspension/brakes and don't want to do the work yourself, then just get the PP.

If you think you can get everything else cheaper, then go with out.

In the long run, if you plan to sell it you'll get a tad bit more if you have the PP.

It's your call. If it was me I'll make a list on how much coilovers and a bbk would run me. Then compare it to a non pp and pp car. Then go from there.

Better brakes. Smoother suspension. Pimpier wheels. $1K. It’s a no brainer. Do it.

The pads are the same as a 2004 to present wrx sti and the rotors the same as a 2004 wrx sti, so lots of selection. The package is a no brainer.

The PP is a steal for what it is. The included Sachs dampers are VERY good and the upgraded brakes are nice too all things considered. If I had one of these I'd do a set of RCE Tarmac springs, camber bolts, oil cooler, OFT + Header and call it a day.

It sure is pretty sitting on the shelf though...

-The brembos alone are worth the price of admission for the PP.
-Pad selection is pretty much the same from the standard caliper.
-Counterspace Garage carries a lot of PP pads since 86Cup has regulars that track their PP.
-Wheel selection has expanded and not as hard to find compared to when the model first came out. Tire rack has them at their wheel selector too so you can be sure of fitment.

The PP is what got me over the edge to buy a BRZ. Agreed, it's a great bargain! Mazda charges almost 3x as much for front Brembos and BBS wheels on the ND. I've had some nice coilovers on prior cars, but only added RCE yellow springs, and don't feel the need to change the Sachs shocks/struts - they're pretty damn good.

Hang tight for 1-3 months, and you'll have the opportunity to buy mine plus a set of 17x9 Apex ARC-8's w/ fresh 245/40 Direzza DII's.

As others have said, the PP is a no-brainer for the price. The Brembos are excellent and the aftermarket pad and rotor selection is second to none. I have no complaints about the stock springs and dampers, but RCE yellows would not hurt. The stock ride is plenty firm, just a little tall. I went with camber bolts as a first step and have not had trouble with tire wear (stock tires). I did add a JR NA oil cooler, which reduces temps across the board by 30 deg. I even like the wheels and I'm sure a bump to a good tire would be amazing, but I am going to splurge on 17x9's wheels for the hell of it.
