Any comment on how this will hold up in our harsh winters? Salt, ice build up, constant freezing and melting (expanding of the material), weight of snow, etc.
You're in NYC, similar winters as us here in Toronto.

Bit of a stretch I know, since it has only been developed this year without a chance to test with the elements.

It's hard to give data on those very specific points like weight of snow. The tensile strength of the material is identical to ABS so weight of snow, ice etc shouldn't be an issue.

Regarding the expansion of material, the covers have similar thermal expansion properties as ABS (67-180 vs 60-130 abs), but can expand more at higher temps. And the pieces are finished with an automotive clear coat so it should have the same reaction to ice, salt etc as any other plastic part on your car.

The material I'm using has an 8% elongation at break point so it should handle well given that it's function doesn't require elongation and it's tensile strength is the same as ABS.

I left an inner piece and a cover in my freezer when I saw your post. Feels exactly the same but cold now. When I bend the cover it flexes just enough but doesn't crack.

You're a legend, thanks for that.

As much as I want to bite, $250 USD is a bit too steep for me especially after the conversion... Love the product and the vision, hope the turn out is massive!

The risers looks amazing, I've been following your thread since near the beginning, so definitely great to see it finally from to fruition. Massive props. Unfortunately, the price is out of my range, but best of luck to you.

Looks like you have a monogram, though?

Or do you have one of the newer 860's/BRZ's?
