Um, no. Unless you enjoy sprained wrists, pull up.

Easy for you to say, you were big and heavy; I was small and light, I had to jump off a 5 gallon bucket onto the crank handle ..

Anyway, drove my car around today and had no issues starting it. The valets at my garage also havent complained about having issues starting it either, its a freaking mystery. Gonna be driving around some more tomorrow. |

I just had this problem, its an easy fix but it'll be uncomfortable. If you look underneath where your clutch is. At the very top where the clutch pivots there is a small pin switch. When you step on the clutch, a little metal plate presses down on the switch and the car cranks up. I was able to turn on the car just by pressing on that pin with my finger w/out touching the clutch. Its hard to see and you need to crawl on your back. The sensor is mounted to a flat plate that has two 14mm bolts on each side, i just took a small 14mm wrench and loosend it up a but, which moved the sensor out a bit. So now when I step on the clutch that little pin gets fully pressed and starts every time now. Sorry I couldn't get a better picture.

But you can keep it cranking forever too by keeping the button pressed

I think this thread is going to save me a lot of future frustration! I've had this intermittent starting issue and ruled out the battery, starter, fuses, and an incorrectly-diagnosed wheel lock preventing the car from starting. I intuitively suspected there was some kind of electrical mechanism with the clutch preventing the car from starting. Ordering this now! Hopefully it's not too much of a pain to swap out.

Just completed mine. Tip, tighten till there is about 4 or 5 threads showing where the nut is by the switch. That video did really help especially the tip of using pliers to hold the switch when wrenching.

Bumping this thread since I was just experiencing this issue. Only thing I was able to do atm was wipe down the two plungers on the switches, and it seems to have solved the issue.
I will be ordering a new clutch start switch tho. |

Is that the issue? I assumed that debris collected on the plunger to the point where it doesn't go in correctly or enough.
