Depends, will the "wooshy" sounds be coming from you or the car? Let's do it! Lake Beryessa run on Sunday, switch off mid-way

Went for a Grizzly Peak -> Pinehurst -> Closed Redwood Rd. drive today. Figured these RE71Rs aren't gonna wear themselves out.

Pinehurst and Redwood were completely dead and free of traffic - only a few cyclists here and there. Canyon and Redwood being closed really cuts down on the Prius drivers that you usually see up here. Very nice.

Even though I was only going at a "6 or 7 out of 10 intensity", this was the first time pushing these RE71R tires. Very interesting experience. They track so accurately, and I'm able to make really fine inputs as I go through the corner and see immediate results. They really do a great job of transmitting every little adjustment I make.

One thing I noticed when going through corners with them, is that they seem to make the car want to oversteer. What I mean, is that I don't remember having to "straighten out" as early or as accurately as with the previous tires I had on. (Toyo T1 Sports).

They seem to want to continue in the direction they are going. Which gave what I can only imagine was an oversteer-like sensation. Just meant I had to watch my mid corner and corner exit inputs a little closer than usual. Anyone else notice this type of cornering sensation with really sticky tires?

I channeled @MyRx and jumped out for a photo at the road closed signs. Also, what the hell did my tires kick up and spray all over the side of the car? Ignore the water spots, those are from the last rain, but what is that stringy tar stuff? I think I need some OEM mudflaps.

Went on a drive today on Hicks Road in San Jose!

Rather short (I think like a 30 minute drive?) but very fun with some good twists and turns and elevation changes. Only saw maybe 3 or so cars the whole way, none in front of me. Passed some bikers a few times but fortunately in good passing spots except for maybe one, which was a bit tricky.

Channeled @Clipdat, who also channeled @MyRx, and took a photo in front of a sign for a closed road, because why not?

Also took a quick stop on the road near one of the reservoirs:

And finally I had to stop for boba since I'm rarely in the area:

I have a gopro video currently rendering too!

hicks is always fun, however over the last few years, more and more sheriffs have been camping out in the turns, especially out by the old psychiatric hospital entrance.... also beware of the albinos ...

I'm very confused about almost everything you mentioned o_o

I didn't see any sheriffs the whole way or park rangers or anything.

Also not sure what you mean by psychiatric hospital or...albinos?? Wat.

Do you have a square setup? If so, equalize your tire pressures (hot or cold) then raise it up 2-3 lbs equally. Decrease your contact patch.

That day, I ran that loop 3x, I decrease my tires twice. It improved handling but after a couple hours at home, I had ~26 lbs, it looked flat after cooling off.
