I never knew this and it makes so much sense now that I do!
I did sort o wonder why when I used my simple hose soap applicator it would all run off but when using the exact same soap in pressure washer it stuck.

And with the pressure washer you can adjust the ratio depending on how much soap you want to use.

My favorites right now are Meguiars Hyperwasy or Optimum Car Wash. Both foam and lubricate quite a bit better than what I remember of Meg's Gold Class and the concentration levels are much higher too.

For such a low price this might be work trying out. However with my car being ceramic coated it sheds water like crazy and the foam might not sit long enough to do any good.
Optimum car wash is my go to inexpensive soap. If you want to go boutique brand carpro reset has been my favorite soap for the past couple years.

Adams car wash sits in third place.

+1 for anything from Optimum.

The best budget soap on the market is probably Mr.Pink from CG. Ph Neutral, no sealants or waxes. I use it all day every day on client cars. Rest is great, Gwash is great, etc.

And only $20/gal via amazon which is nice.

After having used Optimum and Meguiars Hyperwash back-to-back I actually like Hyperwash a little better.

Optimum might offer a slight advantage with lubrication, but I found Hyperwash cleans better. Hyperwash also has a better dilution ratio so it goes farther and IMO dissolves in the water better which makes it easier to rinse off. Can't go wrong with either one.

CarPro Reset is amazing stuff, but rather pricey. I'll buy the small sample bottles of the stuff and use it in the spring to deep clean my coated cars and then go back Hyperwash or Optimum for the rest of the year.

OK...back on topic.... Wet foam runny. Dry foam good.

Optimum makes good stuff in general. Love ONR. So far my favorite shampoo is Carpro Reset, so slick and cleans really well.

Watched your video over at Reddit. The soap solution just dribbles out. You still have to wash the car with something like a wash mitt.
And what a waste of soap. I have the same jug of Turtle Wax soap that you used. You only need a very small amount of it in a bucket to wash your car. IMO, this thing seems like a waste of money.

It dribbled out because my car is protected with Graphene wax. So things just kind of slide right off. Even bird droppings. So my testing didn’t do it much justice.
You should always follow up a foaming with a microfiber sponge because soaping, whereas is wet or dry foam, only helps with top dirt.
I used a very small amount of soap, there’s actually indicators on the bottle to help you with your mix.
The last statement is a little far-fetched, but I agree to an extent. If I wash my car, I do it with a pressure washer and the whole ordeal takes me about hour and half. But then is another 20 minutes with setting up and putting everything away, roll the hoses, roll the cables, etc. This is acceptable as a really quick wash, with 2 bucket method. Is good for deck cleaning, or even motorcycle. For $25 I have a good tool to do small projects around the house/wash the dog. But for the car, I have to be either extremely tired, or I am late to a car meet.
Plus I got a decent nozzle with it, a good wheel brush, and a very convenient wash mitt.
If I’m being realistic, probably not going to use it as much, I do like my pressure washer better, even if it takes me longer.
