Some brands offer a moonroof delete option. Would like to see a "duck" delete option for the 86

$230 for the Frameless HomeLink Mirror? I would be inclined to get this if it was also auto-dimming but looks like they cheaped out by not offering it this way.

You could go with the Subaru accessory instead, but it's not frameless.

Would it for sure be compatible?

The Toyota mirror specifically says it's battery powered, but the Subaru one plugs in. Will the GR86 have the cabling preinstalled even though they don't officially support the powered mirror?

Good question. I haven't seen the parts catalog for the GR86 yet.

Or, I can just go with the BRZ instead. This Ice SIlver Metallic looks really good:

Yeah, but then you have to park up against a wall all the time to avoid looking at that nose.

I almost caved in at a local BRZ near me, but after getting news that a few folks are getting VINs and that vehicles are in a build status, I'm holding out.

The front fascia just looks too happy for me haha. With the STI pickings though, it looks really good.

Yeah, going to definitely have to weigh the pros and cons of both versions before making final decision. Other than the BRZ's questionable grille, I do like the black treatment on the front lip (the GR86 is body colored), the wrap around DRLs (The GR86 only lights at the bottom), the rear spoiler (not the exaggerated duckbill on the GR86). The GR86 has the nicer front end going for it but since I won't be putting many miles on her, the 2 years included service really isn't a factor and the free track day is a bonus but not a deal closer.

I think after seeing enough of both versions in assorted colors IRL, hopefully a final decision will be clearer.

Yeah definitely. There are things that I do like about the BRZ. I like the red stitched interior along with the wheel, but then, I like the GR touches on the car and the branding just feels better for the GR. Makes me feel like I'm driving a performance oriented vehicle, despite them being twins lol. Marketing at it's finest.

Best option is to find someone who wants it but bought the base model in the same color. Meet up somewhere, swap trunk lids. There's just a few bolts holding them on.

I'm definitely going for the Premium, and not 100% sold on the duck. I'll reserve final judgement until I see it in person, but if I stick to thinking it looks dumb I'm going to find someone with a dark-blue base model who wants to switch.

The Canadian configurator has the auto-dimming mirror so I’m assumjng the wiring is in place for the US version too.

Oh that's interesting....
Neptune and Pavement are not available on the base models, only on the Premium trims.
