Matte White vinyl wrapped trim? Should I?

So I really really do not like the silver trim in our cars. I'm lucky enough that the 2015 BRZ doesnt have the silver dash trim, but the rest of the silver still bugs me.

I was thinking about wrapping the pieces since I didn't want to pay hundreds to put carbon overlays on the trim.

Has anyone done this with matte white vinyl? I've seen a few threads about matte white wrapped EXTERIORS but nothing about the inside. And also nothing about how hard it might be to keep clean.

I'd start with the shift boot trim, especially since I'm getting a white shift knob from Anarchy Motive. It'll eventually extend to all silver pieces, and possibly even the faux carbon dash trim if I really like the white lol.

I hated the carbon wrap because it looks so fake to me. Ordered the "new" 4D carbon fiber vinyl wraps and it looks great. Wrapped my door handle, steering wheel trim, radio trim and shift boot with it.

Where did you get that from? Did you just buy a roll and wrap it all yourself?

Is this a joke or did I miss something? First guy says silver is terrible and wants to replace it with something brighter/more contrast-y / worse. Second guy didn't like the fake carbon fiber so he wrapped his panels with fake carbon fiber.

I'm in the twilight zone.

There are two types of carbon fiber wraps. The "Old" and the "New". I didn't like the old one and I like the new one.

i have actually carbon fiber overlays on the wheel and shifter trim that the guy before me put on. I just carbon fiber vinyl-ed the rest myself and came out nice to where you cant tell its fake unless i told you or if you had done something similar before lol. i did the door handles, front center console trim, and air conditioner trims. came out good. much better than the silver OEM at least. or you can just plastidip them black. whatever works. White might be a little much unless your car is white...

I wrapped most of the silver pieces satin white pearl. 3m scotchprint vinyl. Matches perfectly & held up for months now. The photo below shoes the shift boot & side trims next to the radio & air controls.

Any chance you have some pictures? I'd like to see how it turned out. I'd totally be down to wrapping them myself as well if it saved some money!

The silver is terrible because of how it looks when scratched (shows a little black if scratched deep enough I think). And the fake shine to it is ugly to me as well, which is why I'd rather wrap it in matte white. If the vinyl gets scratched, I'll just re-wrap. But I'm more worried about the white getting stained.

Yea my car is white haha, which is the main reason for wanting to wrap it in matte white. It'd match the exterior and my shift knob.

Awesome, I love how that looks. Way better than the silver trim. Have you ever spilled or stained the white? I'm worried about keeping it clean, but yours still looks perfect after months.

Yep yep, I follow them on facebook so I saw that haha. Would definitely get the buttons since I can wrap those. Everything else I'd probably just wrap to save some money.
