Arrow Whats The Best Way To Get That Wide Look?

I love my scion FRS but I want to make it look wide and mean. I love the wide boy kit from Greddy but I can really afford that and if i could I would rather get the turbo kit... I was thinking maybe spacers but are spacers bad for your car? Do they effect the performance good or bad? and Which ones should i get to try to make my car look super wide. I was also thinking in new wide rims but that could also be expensive so I was think of buying some and then selling mine. I like the three spokes or support ones... what size should I get if I want it to look wide. I might get a raise in the future so Ill be adding a lot more stuff. THX PS: IK this is not for this tread but i saw this and was wondering wat Exhaust is that (last Pic)

Id say lowering the car is the best way to make it look wider aside from actually buying a widebody kit.

i always reomend cut your fenders and just make a rocket bunny kit out of cardboard and then put 24s or 26s with spinners and maybe write down LFA on the sides and put lexus badges with a nascar logo on your window.

When I did the vinyl in the center of my trunk, it tricks the eye into looking much wider and more "squatty" from the back. Lower def helps. As does getting rid of the rc car antenna, I recommend @PERRIN

Wheel spacers with stockers will help.

Wider wheels if you have the money. Or just throw some meaty 235 wide rubbers on stock wheels.

That exhaust is Toms I believe.

That "wide" look done properly will be expensive. You'll want 8 or 9 inch wide wheels with a proper offset and tires, plus lowering springs or coil overs. I would estimate $2 grand installed if you get it done on the cheap. Less if you go for used parts.

As for spacers, they are obviously much cheaper but I don't think you'll achieve the look you want. There's nothing wrong with spacers, I've been running 1" wide spacers on my truck for 2 years without any issues. If you do go this route, make sure you get a decent quality set and make sure they're torqued down properly and you use loctite on the studs.

and wider wheels... add cambers to tuck them in, unless you are a fan of mexiflush.

Seriously, OP.. that kind of car is only for shows. I hope you are not selling your car in a few months because of the shitty handling.

To make your car look WIDE, you will need wider wheels, wider tires, and suspension parts. Coilovers, some sort of camber adjustment, and possibly a roll &/or pull of the fenders.

It can be done, but takes Money to be done right. There are many examples on this forum. I'd suggest looking through wheel and tire section and the Members car Journals section.

Good Luck!

dropping the car effectively change the height:width ratio, so it will look wider. Cheapest way.
