So they put Australian compliance plates on in Japan prior to shipping?

Why then doesn't it come up on my tracker? it has build date as Dec 2012, but Compliance date has no data yet.

Don't really see a point of having this field if compliance and build date will be the same!

It will depend on the actual date the car came off the production line, mine was originally scheduled for 21/12 and even then I was told that build date would be December but compliance would be 2013. As it turned out, the car came off Boxing Day and is currently enroute to Yokohama for shipping to here

There would be no point compliancing a car 2012 if it hadn't even left Japan before 1/1/13. I spoke with TMCA 2 weeks ago and was 'unofficially' told mine would be 2013, but I have heard the same since from 3 Dealers - no idea what the actual 'cut-off' date was in December

The VIN on your tracking will update shortly for you, it runs a week or so behind the main TMCA system

All I have to do in the next week is find out what ship mine will be coming down on

Your Dealer will know that, if you have tracking it updates around 22/23rd each month - starts with 'Planned production month' and says when, December build was showing from 22 October, so if nothing now then at least February or March or later - sorry to say that

Ask your Dealer what info he has, but generally as soon as the order is placed it will add 3 months - my original order is now 2 days short of 6 months ago, just a GT and NOTHING!! Not planned for either Jan or Feb, so much for the Chairman of Toyota Sales & marketing saying 2 months ago 'as little as 6 weeks wait for a GT'

If nothing is happening, ring around various Dealers, like for instance ring the Toyota Dealer in Dubbo, Wagga etc and simply ask what they could have, you will be surprised! Get the phone numbers off the net by simply googling 'Toyota Dubbo' or 'Toyota Wagga' etc - that's how I scored my GTS MT

You will find a lot of guys have done the 'ring around' and hit the jackpot!! [PM sent to you]

no point if we have contracts. I understand everyone in WA is in a different boat with their delivery clause, but the rest of us just have to wait.

Not so, my Dealer originally told me around 3 months for delivery when I placed my order a week after release, and by that period the order had still not been sent to Japan [and still hasn't!] As such by October things were not looking good, constantly being pushed back month by month, so the car would have been at least 7/8 months or more. When I managed to secure the GTS and I rang and spoke with my original Dealer, emailed them as confirmation and then personally called in to thank them for all they had done, they without my asking, and NOT expecting it, refunded my deposit while I was there.

It's NOT the Dealers' fault for the delays, it's the constant LIES told by Toyota. To have 2 State employees tell me to my face 'all orders go to Japan in order of receipt and customer orders are preferenced over 'Dealer stock'' is just total bullsh*t!!

My dealer showed me his list of about 15 or so orders of which 0 had been delivered. That was around November. Last update I heard was build for December.

For those fortunate to have a car on TRANS FUTURE 7, it doesn't have to drop any cars in Townsville so it's going straight to Port of Brisbane which appears to shave off a day or two in travel time and arrive on the 3rd January.

Basically my car will be one of the first to physically come off a ship in 2013 so it will be very interesting to see what happens with the compliance plate date.

I'm very excited!

For those curious about the details:
http://www.qships.transport.qld.gov....Movements.aspx

Search for your ship on there and you can see which ports in Brisbane they might be going to (you have to specify the time schedule, 7 days in the past or in advance only)

Have a safe and fun New Years Eve everyone!
I spoke with TMCA and whilst told 'don't quote me', that cars with a build date from 'mid December' would be complianced 2013. At that stage mine was scheduled for build on 21/12/12 - finally came off the line 26/12 and my Dealer has told me whilst it will show a build month of December it WILL be complianced 2013, so all will depend on what date yours came off the line as I am not aware of the actual 'cut-off' date

Australian Compliance plates are attached IN JAPAN and not when the car gets to Australia

Will be interesting to see what yours says because to me it's totally unfair that a car that would not be landed into Australia should have 2012 compliance, a year old before it's landed

Nice drive to Gatton today to deliver the personal plates to the Dealer - VERY friendly bunch of guys, stayed around an hour or so, foundout mine will be on the 'Augustus Aguila' out of Yokohama but can't find any ship of that name!!

Great drive back via Esk, Somerset Dam and Kilcoy, winding twisting roads, mate drove back and never got out of 3rd for maybe 7-8km having so much fun!! [Least I was more placid on the way down to Gatton!!]

4-5 weeks and I should have it!!

You and me both. I have been confused about the compliance date stuff for a bit, but at least I know that my car came off the boat in 2013... by about 2 hours!

Not long for us now!

When is your pickup date scheduled for? Mine is 14th.
