Well, after using reddit for multiple for sale posts, I think I've had someone do me in for using that platform for selling.

Trying to sell a Sandisk X300 256gb SSD. I'm asking $70 for it. Guy messages me, and asks "hey, if I pick it up, will you go down in price?" I say "Sure, I can do $60 on it". He replies with "It's an SSD from 2014, I'll have to get back to you."

Now what I'm wondering, is just how skint are some of the people who are buying used computer parts, that they seriously have to question spending $60 bucks on a 256gb SSD? The cheapest brand new SSD of comparable capacity, is over 100 bucks (Thanks Newegg and Amazon) how do you need to consider an SSD with just over 2100 hours of use? That means it has less than 100 days of on time. You're saving 40% on the SSD I'm selling compared to brand new. How does that even take consideration?

Yeah, and it's not worth the fees to use ebay. I have a spare 240GB Sandisk that I don't know where to sell. I hate using craigslist but may go to that in another few months

Am I seriously fucked on my price though? The SSD hasn't even had a year of use on it. And again, I'm 30-40% under retail on comparative brands. I don't get it.

If I was in the market for an SSD of this capacity, I'd jump right on that deal. Hell, even if it only lasts me a few months, it was sixty bucks. I can afford to replace it.

I really don't know. Not much into used computer parts but 50-75% of retail seems pretty fair. Maybe because SSD have a shelf life to some it isn't worth much to risk. I don't even know but are their ways to prove how many hours its been under use?

We go North up to Northern Vermont. Connecticut doesn't really have extensive trails or anything to ride on.

It was just an OS drive. I guess really, for how much trouble I've had trying to sell it, it's not worth it, so I don't need to worry.

You use Crystal Disk Info, and it shows a bunch of statistics for either an SSD or an HDD
