DIY Arm Rest

Hey guys,
Just thought l'd share the arm rest l came up with. I wasn't happy with the arm rests on the market as they were either too high for my liking or required taking up the whole compartment. I still wanted access to the cup holders in the center, so l came up with the following idea.

It's not finished yet, as I'm still after similar leather to match the rest of the interior. But, it's functional and most importantly, feels just right while driving!

Hope this gives you guys some ideas.

I really like the supposed OEM screw on armrest, but this is a close second. Completely with you on the other armrests, they leave a lot to be desired.

Liking your approach... creates a covered storage area... retains use of cup holders.

Looking fwd to what the finished product (w/pad & covering) looks like.

WOW. That is awesome! I'm actually really liking that. Can you keep this thread updated for us? I want to see this completed. I might wind up trying to copy you. I'm interested to see what leather you wind up with as well. I use my cup holders regularly. Thanks! :-)

Will do!

The idea l'm going with is to wrap the piece in leather with red stitching around the edge, similar to the steering wheel.

You could literally wrap it in whatever you wanted however (if that's your thing):

Do you have any updates on this? From all I've seen, it's by far my favorite option.
Do you have plans you could post so us lesser mortals could follow in your superior footsteps?
