This is a unique situation which the cars are literally the exact same, but one car is handicapped. Because I will gladly put my stock springs / rear bar back on to go run D-Street. The roads around here are just destroyed. I bought this car to be able to run in one of the most popular classes, if we have two twin stock classes for cars that are all (nearly) exactly the same 13-16, that's fucked in my opinion.

I agree. Looking at the DS times from Nats last year, the FR-S/BRZ look like clear overdogs to me. I don't see why they can't allow parts interchange with the BRZ. As you said, they are nearly identical cars, allow them to use the TRD sways and Springs and be done with it. CS is an extremely healthy/competitive class, why risk ruining it when there is a reasonable alternative sitting on the table.

I'm in the process of putting on the TRD springs and sways after going without last year. If they did move the non-TRD FR-S to DS you can bet I'll be taking those back off and running DS, it would clearly be the car to have in that class...

I was planning on installing my TRD springs this weekend, but if they are truly putting the non-TRD in DS, I'll scrap that plan and stay on OEM springs and be an overdog in DS.

Might as well put them on. At this point, any change would be for next year, not this year.

....
If you follow Andy Hollis, you'll know what I mean. If 2 or more manufacturers come out with identical chassis but use different port installed options, you could have a case of people cherry picking the ideal combination of port installed options to build a franken car. Said car could have a huge advantage to any other car manufacturer that doesn't have access to all these cross manufacturer port options. Thus you start with one model that has slightly less weight, slightly better gear box and then start picking options from the other manufacturers that has slightly better spring and sway bar port installed options. Quickly that car becomes the must have car in the class. Thus Pandora's box.

On the other hand if you start to put exception to certain cars into the rule book, the rule book becomes enormously large and tedious to read as you try to accommodate every special case. The rules have to be written in a general manner that accommodates all cars without being specific or at least that's what I've been told.

As Andy and some of the other old timers would says, the rules aren't designed around YOUR specific car. They have to take every other car into consideration. Honestly I don't envy them.

Isn't there an exception or some special rule for spec Miatas?

Last year was not a good year to try to compare speed between classes. Many classes ran wet, the weather was all over the place. It rained HARD on 2/3rd of the DS guys on Day 1.

I just got my Scion/TRD decals in the mail. Trying to figure out how I want to deal with the "SCION" decal for the front of the car. I'm putting all my other decals on magnetic material so I can take them off between events. I wonder if they'd be okay with the "SCION" decal on the roof just above the windshield......

Just make sure you wax it first and throw it on the hood or front bumper, they come off easy enough and the residue cleans up quickly with a bit of goo gone

I contacted Koni and they said they are sending out the spacer washers and instructions to get it to the correct spec.

I got mine last week, however they sent it through the USPS and didn't put enough stamps to cover postage... So I had to pick it up at the Post Office and pay 72 cents...to get it.
