Having read Yoshi's problem, I simply looked for the newest model I can possibly find. CA060 on the pump assembly and there is another ID number on the control unit that distinguishes between the newer ones and older, tho I'm not sure how to decode it.

I'll try finding a newer unit and see it that makes a difference.

Hopefully it's that. If you can, try to verify that the electronic module has a number consistent with a newer unit.

My build date is 02/13 IRC, so its just a bit newer than your car.

Original control unit: 0 266 242 427

'19 (or maybe '18) toyota 86 control unit: 0 265 290 176

hope that helps.

No. unbolt electronic control module from abs block, rebolt new one, repin it, should work even on old instrument gauge cluster, except it will light vsc sport instead of track and will have no hillstart indicator.

I'm hoping Yoshoobaroo gets his situation sorted out so we can all do this swap with confidence.

Well, so far there seems to be more successes vs his case. And seems that module used on ebay doesn't cost that much, or that work isn't that difficult, for just that to keep putting off. Worst case, $100 paid for no change.

I agree. I'm the only one out so far and I've got the oldest unit by far. even getting a 2018 unit should be safe. I'd avoid the 2017s for now.

BTW, how important bit is to ensure it comes from MT? Has anyone tried & failed with retrofit from AT? Are there different part numbers to ease distinguishing/ensuring it's right one, not just telling yes to all guestions seller that wishes to sell it off?
