Broke the weld on my new Tomei front pipe. Luckily it wasn’t the actual front pipe, but the weld for the mount.
I know a guy who can weld titanium, so I’m not too worried, but it’s rattling like crazy now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

doesn't look like a very good weld. looks like they cold-welded/spot-welded it to get the appearance of 'stacked dimes' at too low of a current...

Just seems strange. I’ve heard Tomei makes quality stuff. The welds on the actual piping seem extremely nice, I’m not sure how that weld snapped. I’ve also heard Titanium is super sensitive, but I don’t really know, I would have to do more research on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Got this thing in the mail...
Unfortunately... it only mostly fit? lol I assumed I'd either have to drill out the stock front pipe flange or buy some bolts in the correct size so off to Lowes... I really wanted that quad tip look. And thanks to cutting my hand, I didn't spend the time to loosen everything and straighten it up so... here's a picture of my crooked exhaust until I fix it LOL

Look at it closely. The bead just runs along the edge of the "L" bracket instead of over it melting/fusing it and the base together. Look at the other "L" bracket and you can see that the bead clearly blends into the bracket. Welder may have had the correct settings just missed his/her mark. A good inspector would/should have caught this before shipping.

So the stock bolts... have that spring... and i did in fact take a clamp to it to make that work but bottoming out the spring still wasn't enough to bring the flanges together. lol BUT, now that I think about it... that was BEFORE I removed the donut gasket. It's not in the instructions but that thing definitely is NOT compatible with an aftermarket exhaust. Hence the supplied third gasket, I'm sure but it would have been nice to know.

Car just got back from the bodyshop after a tree fell on her. Installed some Eibach Sportlines on stock Sachs dampers, Perrin gurney flap and painted a few things differently.
