So replaced injectors, started up without the driver side injector cover. PRETTY sure I can isolate the noise to the DI pump using my stethoscope.

When revving noise appears to disappear?

Going to take it for a short drive tomorrow/friday and see how it is

edit:

Sounds EXACTLY like this, with a VERY similar cadence

https://www.skyroadster.com/threads/...jectors.97189/

also no codes

It absolutely does, but I've never heard another fa20 make that noise. If it's the SCV, then I think something is off, like it's sticking. Crickets are the sound of DI rail pressure being properly regulated.

Think I can just replace the hpfp if so? Maybe bad gas? Has been sitting for close to a month

Meh. A month is nothing. If you can log, I wouldn't throw parts at it just yet. Log the DI rail pressure while it's idling. I wonder if the SCV current, or duty cycle can also be logged.

Or maybe it's no biggie.

well definitely looks drastically different than yours

I drove today and it seems mostly okay? No codes. Didn't get super into it since it's base tune. Clicking seems to have decreased drastically so not sure what it was but it definitely still seems present, just not nearly as loud. I did order a new HPFP off of ebay from a 19' with 15k miles.

Sent logs to tuner so we will see what he says.

Also have a super slow leak from the area in green unfortunately. Tried tightening but no luck. Going to try an Earl's 10an seal and some permatex high temp thread sealant IDK

this oil drain location is honestly not my favorite due to proximity to header and belts (it is not touching manifold, it's the angle of the photo. It is close at it's closest though at probably 1/4-1/2 of an inch)

It's clearly having trouble regulating rail pressure. If you enable the PI ratio graph you can see that your keeps trying to kick in but flops. That might even be the sound we hear.

in your picture it matches the cadence of the sound (about 1 click every 10 seconds) so maybe

IDK

Not sure what I could have fucked up

@AussieBRZ, any thoughts?
@tomm.brz you seem smart too IDK if you can help lolol

you hear it once the camera gets lowered. It's louder/more noticeable in person. It sounds like it's near driver side injector area/head

Am I crazy?

Hi, Tomm. Maybe less confusing if you only start reading at the post I quoted. Strange ticking sound. A few in more rapid succession but mostly about one tick per second.

Hi yes thank you!

See youtube video for clicking

Then see that fuel system status fluctuates between 2 and 4 and di fuel pressure seems to be very inconsistent

OEM injectors, di injectors recently cleaned. 3 bar omni map. K00c tune.

Yes seems strange usually di fuel pressure failry steady 3 to 4 MPa at idle

Check the grounds on the DI computer under Bonnett all three bolts in and tight

Also it might be the di fuel pressure sensor feeding the di computer weird info then the di pump tries to follow that.

My guess would be di pump or di pressure sensor if the di computer is correctly earthed/grounded unless there is something very weird in tune
