I personally think the black plastidip with light coats of silver metalizer would look very sharp with the silver ignition. Maybe even a top clean coat for a little gloss look. If I had the time this is what I would do.

For example: on hot days when you get in the car, both will crank the fan speed and go into recirc mode, when you shut off the climate control in the Prius it turns off the recirc, but in the FRS it stays on. I also notice when the FRS goes from recirc to fresh as the air seems quite a bit warmer.
I try not to bitch about this, but last night I experience this again. I have been leaving it on 68 along with AUTO off, recirculation on and AC most of the time. Last night, when outside temperature was 57, I felt very warm in the same 68/recirc/AC setting. It doesn't blow out cool air until I adjusted to 65. 69 and above is literally heat that's good enough for snowy weather.

However... I can't reproduce this everytime. Like this morning outside temp was 60 the 68/recir/AC setting blows out cool air.

I noticed that even when I turn off the whole HVAC with recirc on, I can still feel warm air from the two outside vents.

I thought about bringing it in for service but not sure if the technicians know enough about this unit since it's not on the regular FRS. Just wonder if other 10series or BRZ limited owner has this issue.

I heard to remove plastidip from stock rims was a pain in the ass.

It seems to me that you will get different results depending how your setting relates to the air temperature. Naturally, if the ambient temperature is less than the number you choose it will blow warmer. If it happens to already be hotter than that same number, you will get colder air.

Pin 5 -> Resistor Pack (~80ohms) -> Diode -> Pin 1

Equals

And

I was going to do a DIY tutorial as requested but I did quite a bit of soldering and a bit of fabricating to make this:

The metal houses the electrical components with thermal paste sealed inside to dissipate the heat from the diode and resistor. Gets a bit warm but not hot.

By looking at the pictures above, folks with enough mechanical/electrical aptitude should be able to figure it out.

All said and done, this does exactly what I wanted. LEDs at half brightness with the HIDs on and DRLs 100% functional still.

Obviously I took the car (duh!), but then gave him my very best WTF Face, so he quickly inquired with whoever his Scion distribution contact was the next day and said it was "unavailable." I've obviously seen plenty of pics of peoples' 10-Series with the nav in it...so the question is, did Scion really run out of stock, or am I just dealing with a doofus?

It seems like Canadian dealers just didn't get properly updated, so when customers ask about the BeSpoke upgrade, they don't know about the new add-on module version, and just see info on the old BeSpoke head unit which is discontinued.
Just a point of clarification - us Canadians do not have BeSpoke.

The touchscreen that we are talking about as an option (that they ran out of) is the Pioneer touchscreen upgrade from earlier offerings.

Our basic head unit is the one with the tiny LED read out and knob on the left side of the unit. Looks like crap, but it works ok.

That is awesome projek_1 - I'm not as handy on the soldering iron as you so I'm hoping somebody comes out with a kit for this....

I'm not screwing with my headlights while they are under warranty.

Seeing how the JDM headlights are $1,181.00 each I would think Toyota put a stupid asking price on the 10 Series headlights also under the VIN protect garbage and that money isn't coming out of my pocket if one of them needs replacing.

Link to the JDM ones here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5584

Awesome work projek, it's unfortunate there wasn't a more simple solution (techstream) for us non-electrical savvy individuals like myself. Thanks for update. Must have been a cost saving reason for them to not include the extra wire. We know its not a legal thing because plenty of automakers do it.
