Forester XT and BRZ CVT

Is the CVT for both the same or somewhat identical due to the engine being the same?

I will say the CVT in the FXT is not bad, and the ability to change to 6 or 8 set ratios is pretty novel, but I'd rather have a fast TC Auto (ZF 8-spd!) any day. Or a stick.

Back on topic, as mentioned earlier, the BRZ uses a 6 speed torque converter auto, not the CVT from the Forester/WRX.

Hey guys... don't rip on CVT's, once they start being put into every car and become our overlords, we'll be hearing the "rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" all day long so best accustom to them while you still can!

On a more serious note, our Lexus CT200h has a CVT in it and it sounds horrible under power. Luckily it only takes about 4 seconds to speed up to traffic speed and then its pretty quiet.
