Sounds good. But you could buy a used one and go to the aftermarket and get the same performance for DD for cheaper. Tires and suspension are easy upgrades. No reason to trade an old one for the new one. But if you are in the market for a new one, it looks good.

Its pretty much as it is at this point

-Much more refined than before
-Engine still bleh and underpowered
-torque dip
-Old and outdated but still fun as hell

To each their own but imagine paying 3k for those hideous 18 inch wheels.

Yup, spot on. I think the review was perfect.

This is why I sold my 2015 at 70k miles and bought a new Hakone. I prefer the stock exhaust and suspension/brakes as it came as I like to use mine a bit more as a cruiser. I got the handling by swapping the OEM Primacies with the set of almost new 215/45-17 Michelin Pilot Sport 4s that were on my FR-S.

I find the 2020 a bit quieter, more refined, and as it gets some break-in miles, a bit quicker than my 2015. I look forward to at least 5 more years with this one!

Buy low mile, used for 17k. Those upgrades plus a tune for a ton less into it and much better power.

Wow are they late to the party. There have been many 2020 reviews out since the middle of last year.
The small improvements do make it a better car stock. Sure you can mod more but not all mods make the car better for anybody but the guy that modded.
LOL at all the “buy used” dudes. You do realize that somebody has to buy new ones for there to be used right? Anybody that screams only buy used at everybody can just shut the hell up when the next model comes out and it isn’t what you like. You forfeited your right to complain when all you buy is used.

The old wheels are much, much worse, but paying an extra $3100 for them is almost criminal. You could get a better looking set of aftermarket wheels and tires for much cheaper.

Let's all buy new and lose half the value in 2 years and then have none of the "used" guys around to pick up the pieces.

Nothing wrong with new if that's what you want.

Exactly. The thing is that so many say never buy new. No pieces to pick up if no new ones sold. The manufacturers do not base new models on used car sales. They don’t give a shit what happens after new. So let’s all just buy used and let them decide there is no market. You are not being smart buy telling everybody to by used when you look at the big picture. In fact it is a down right stupid ideal to try to meet.

I mean at least it gets the BRZ interior. That alone should be a bump in price. It's basically a brz limited with performance package. Seems spot on and not something so easily done with buying used and modifying.

The only side/downgrade in the 2020 i'm sure you would agree with will likely be the sound system lol. Still looking for any trace of bass over here. Best I could manage was to not use android auto which launches my music player app to play music.

Instead, just use the bluetooth connection to utilize the head unit to simply act as a bridge to the speakers which allows the head unit's sound settings to be in effect. And using the software equalizer from the music player app on my phone does next to nothing and would even distort the music.

Think of the extra $3100 as going towards the Brembo brakes and sachs dampers and it becomes an easier pill to swallow.

But yes, up here in canada, it's literally a $3100 extra for a set of ugly wheels. I just tell myself i'm paying more for the toyota badging for my own stupid nostalgic reasons

After hunting around for a used one and finding sketch cars and their even sketchier owners, I bought a new one for a good deal with this same logic in mind - and love it. If enthusiasts don't buy new and pray that 'others' will so they can take the hit on depreciation, it won't be 20 years later when sports cars die out and the used ones will all be junk buckets soon thereafter.
