My mouth salivates whenever I hear the name Type-R thrown around... Even Type-S would be nice to see...

Accord Type-R: Sedan of the decade award
Ridgeline Type-R: New best selling truck 3020
C-RV Type-R: Best Performance SUV
Civic Type-R: You already know
NSX Type-R: God tier tech from Japan (but made in the US)
Odyssey Type-R: Dodge soccer moms ain't know shit

Type-R ALL THE THINGS.

but really now. would it be that bad? Honda doesnt R/T the shit outta its base cars without going performancey, their prelude Si's where good for the time so an accord Type -R? beti t would be bitchin

Or maybe Accord HPD edition? Shit the Tacoma X-Runner with TRD supercharger made me all sorts of weak when it came out (now its just old)

Like.... Honda/Toyota isnt Nissan/Nismo all the things with badges and stripies

What sarcasm, I don't see any here.... I'd Type-R my house if I could.

I'd buy an Accord Type-R, but not before I bought a Civic Type-R.

you're putting too much stock into a $4 badge.

my ranger has hellcat badges on the fenders. and i'm toying with the idea of making a superbee wing out of old political signs...

The point is that the $4 badge was put in by the company. Once upon a time it meant something special and minivans were not part of it.

precisely.. the intrepid R/T was put out at the same time as the stealth R/t And the difference between the base models to the R/T between the two was MASSIVE

Now it means you get bigger wheels and extra cup holders.

You might change your mind next month when the SE based TRD arrives. It'll have the 301 hp V-6, 8A/T paddle shifters, bespoke exhaust, chassis stiffeners, firmer -0.6" lowering springs, sway bars, shocks, brakes, lightweight black painted wheels, body kit, interior TRD trim, and summer performance tires. Let's not bring up the spoiler but they claim an unspecified downforce benefit. 6,001 to be produced, fewer than Supra. I like it, a lot.

It's based on the lower priced, 90 lb. lighter than XSE SE grade, so if the same pricing delta holds between base 86 and TRD 86, we can hope for a sub-$40K price before Camry incentives that run about $1,500 off every few months.

The interesting thing about the car is that it runs on regular grade fuel, 22/32/26 mpg, cheap insurance and sort of limited availability that might make this sleeper Toyota of the year.
